  Two previously independent teams have begun the complex and critical work of merging operations, combining their respective strengths and best practices to create a new, future-focused Information Technology Services. This transformation initiative goes beyond simply merging the staffs of central IT and the former Health Sciences ITS. Chief Information Officer Brice Knotts has reimagined the organization from top to bottom, reconstituting the leadership team and developing a structure that will support a cohesive technology strategy, create a more consistent customer experience, and identify both savings opportunities and strategic investments for the University moving forward.

 The West Virginia University Board of Governors, after two days of meetings, approved on Friday (June 23) a balanced budget for the coming fiscal year aimed at streamlining and strengthening the WVU System for the future.

Two West Virginia University Board of Governors Rules and associated documentation have been posted online today (May 22) for public comment. The comment period runs through June 21.

On May 17, the WVU Board of Governors approved a timeline to guide academic and operational transformation efforts over the next several months, including the academic program portfolio review process and potential personnel reductions.

The Office of the Provost is reviewing the activities and services provided by the University’s Academic Support Units.
