Reimbursement for sales tax for travel-related expenses was not allowed prior to this change. Instead, employees were encouraged to obtain a Procurement Card (Pcard). Now employees are reimbursed for sales tax expense. This eliminates the cumbersome process of identifying taxes on reimbursements and manually removing it and limits Pcards to employees who will need them on a routine basis.

PCards are now enhanced with chip and PIN technology and are accepted at most international places. Previously, PCards were not always accepted internationally, thus leaving employee to pay travel costs in advance or obtain burdensome travel advances.

Instead of multiple email platforms, now both groups are using Office365 with a comprehensive address book and improved calendar collaboration. WVU Medicine will be joining later this year.

An online form was created as part of a new electronic process. This eliminated the lengthy paper-based form submission process to the business office Human Resources.

The 14-page PIQ form has been reduced to two pages that capture the most relevant and critical data to create the position.

The new layout clearly shows the five respective areas under Human Resources clearly, simplifying navigation.

This allows users to visit and utilize website resources from any mobile device.

Many policies and guidelines were outdated or duplicative. The latest updates resulted in a 55 percent reduction in entries, making navigation easier.

Changed the process to allow electronic bid advertising (versus newspaper postings). This reduces advertising costs and saves time. Postings are only required for construction, allowing faster processing, better vendor access and reduced costs on advertising.

Risk Management & Insurance eliminated the requirement for all employees to complete a driver training course. The course is now available as a resource on e-campus.
